Hardware Diagnostics on Dell Server

Hardware diagnostics are embedded tool install in the Pre-OS of your server.

It is recommended that you run diagnostics using the hardware diagnostics utility, as part of regular maintenance plan to validate that the attached hardware is functioning properly.

You can use the hardware diagnostics utility to validate the memory, I/O device, CPU, physical disks, drives and other peripherals.

Step 1 

Press <F10> at Start-up

Step 2

In the left pane of lifecycle controller, Click Hardware diagnostic.

Step 3

In the right pane of lifecycle run Hardware diagnostic.

Step 4

Before The diagnostic utility is launched, It gives warning message (The hardware diagnostics operation will take several minutes depending on the system configuration. Do you want to continue?). Click Yes to continue.

Step-5

Now Hardware Diagnostics will be start.

Step-6

After diagnostics is done a prompt window shows up. It shows (No problem has been found with the system so far. Do you want to run the remaining memory tests? It shows Estimated time also. Do you want to continue?) Press Yes to continue.

 Press OK

Step-7

Follow the instruction on the server when the test are complete, results of the diagnostics test display on the screen.
